Purpose
An Introduction to Emotional Intelligence is designed as a primer to introduce the basic concepts of emotional intelligence.
What is it?
Emotional Intelligence (EQ) is the dimension of intelligence responsible for our ability to manage ourselves and our relationships with others. Each day, both in our personal and business lives, opportunities and challenges present themselves. It is EQ that enables us to recognize and move toward the opportunity. And it is EQ that enables us to meet even the toughest of life’s challenges.
The four skills that make up emotional Intelligence are; self-awareness and self-management which are more about you. And the last two are; social awareness and relationship management which are more about how you are with other people.

About the Experience
An Introduction to Emotional Intelligence begins the exploration of the four skills associated with EQ. As members of high involvement teams we can all learn to be more attuned to our own feelings or emotions, manage them appropriately and correspondingly be more aware and astute in managing our relationships within the team.
As team members you will learn:
- Learn that emotions are an integral part of everyone’s work experience and are impacted by how they approach leadership,
- About the impact between emotions, productivity and quality,
- Explore how and why in leadership roles they should find reasons to express gratitude in the workplace,
- Begin an examination of their listening skills.
