MY STORY
Funny thing when I think about it, one way or another I have coached throughout my adult life.
After playing amateur football for ten years and feeling a strong pull and desire to coach, I was fortunate and became an award winning football coach over the course of 25 years in my community: (Coach of the Year 3M of Canada; Coach of the Year, Developmental Category, Coaches Association of Manitoba; Order of Sport Excellence, Province of Manitoba; 5 time provincial champions). Prior to finally ending my involvement with football, I founded the Winnipeg Rifles Junior Football Club and served as its first President over a span of 4 years. More recently and since leaving football, I was inducted into the Football Manitoba Hall of Fame in the category of 'COACH'.
Throughout my professional life I have always taken a coaching role in management, training, addictions, employee assistance, team building and later as an Organizational & Human Resource Development Specialist for large public, private and non-profit sector organizations for the better part of 35 years. As well, for a period of 3 ½ years I managed a provincial government employee assistance program serving over 15,000 employees. During this time as a professional and amateur coach, I accumulated a sweeping and wide-ranging array of work and life experiences. |

JAMES LADD B.A. (Psych), C.H.R.P., C.P.I.R.
Life & Business Coach |
I have authored and facilitated a wide variety of training programs covering such diverse topics as; managing organizational change, conflict resolution, personality profiling, team building, performance management, managing and/or coping with stress, interviewing & counseling skills, supervisory & management skills. My most recent publication titled; "THE PERSONAL TRANSFORMATION GUIDE: Raising Awareness of Self to Slay the Dragon," is utilized in both my individual and team coaching engagements and is also available for purchase. Currently, I publish a popular monthly bulletin titled: THE PERSONAL COACH BULLETIN.
Moving along my path as many of us do; life as I knew it would take a drastic turn and almost end for me. I learned in the fall of 2001 that I had a life-threatening lung disease and would not survive unless I received a double-lung transplant. After struggling for the better part of two years just to stay alive and with the clock ticking down, I was blessed and fortunate to receive a double lung transplant in August of 2003. It was through the generosity of a man killed in a car accident and his family, that I was able to beat the odds. In many ways this was a transforming event in my life, one that I viewed as a miracle. Recovery was slow and often painful, but ultimately it was this 'marker' event that led me to forming James Ladd – Life and Business Coaching in 2005, when I realized that for the most part, I would live a normal life again.
It is the sum of my life experiences, this journey down the "Road Less Traveled," that drives me to serve my clients every day. Through coaching I have found that it is about being able to "truly live until you die." I bring to my clients a well-rounded skill set, education and an exceptionally unique blend of life experiences that very few can speak to, and I can say that; "it is a privilege to live each and every day." Moving into my sixth year as a coach now, it is still my goal to coach people toward a place where they can honestly say the same.
My mission to this day remains; "to be a man for others."
