THE PERSONALITY WORKSHOP
Using Personality to be More Productive

What is the Personality Workshop?

The Personality Workshop is a ONE DAY experiential learning exercise that teaches you how to recognize your own style of communication and the communication styles of others, and too understand the characteristics of the various styles. This enables you to be more effective in your personal and professional life, particularly making relationships with others much more fulfilling and enjoyable.

Who Benefits?

This workshop is suitable for executives, managers and entrepreneurs, it is especially effective at creating better work teams and individuals seeking to move forward with their lives in a more congruent way with who they are.

About the Workshop

The emphasis for the workshop will be to understand people's communications styles or how they experience or perceive their world and correspondingly behave in it. This can be invaluable to each of us, improving our communications with one another, our interpersonal relationships at work and away from work, and in the process better allowing us to meet our needs and assist others in doing the same.

Carl Jung, the Swiss psychologist, developed a communication theory based on four major "personality styles" which an individual uses to one degree or another in approaching work and life. The four styles are; INTUITOR (conceiving, visioning, projecting, inducing), THINKER (analyzing, ordering in logical fashion), FEELER (relating to and understanding experience through emotional reactions and response to feeling), SENSOR (experience mainly on the basis of one's own sensory perceptions).

It can be said that we all have a habitual style of communicating, that we tend to seek out those persons with similar styles, we can change our style or modify it, we can recognize the style of others and finally styles are neither good or bad, they are just our style.

During this workshop we will:

  • Complete the self-assessment; "I Speak" which will identify your habitual style of communicating,
  • Explore the characteristics of communication styles,
  • Participate in a "Styles Quiz" to identify characteristic types,
  • Understand how personality strengths can be carried to weaknesses,
  • Explore a variety of situational indicators which help to identify style,
  • Participate in a "Picture Style" identification,
  • Complete and in-depth case study,
  • Through an interview process identify other participant communications styles,
  • Examine communication styles in your work environment,
  • Prepare a goal and detailed action plan to address a communication issue.
